I began my career as a litigation paralegal in NYC working late nights editing briefs, preparing documents for filing in high profile securities cases, and conducting exhaustive research on the corporate entities we would by turns sue or defend for fraud. The work, the law, and the industries were highly technical–something I enjoyed–but the hours were grueling.
When I married into academia and started a family, I became fascinated by what I learned from my spouse. From helping to review grants, providing a final edit on scientific papers, and watching her navigate the journey from doctoral researcher to tenured faculty.
I’ve been a journal editor, a print and epub book maker, a science communicator and consultant. I am a jack of all sciences though I write often about energy, supercomputing, and materials sciences. Together, let’s find the words that make sience real to you. Take a moment, and please, stop for science.
